In 2014, Hema contested from Mathura on a BJP ticket and reached Parliament after defeating Jayant Chaudhary, grandson of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. In 2019, Hema Malini became a member of the Lok Sabha again, defeating Kunwar Narendra Singh of RLD by three lakh votes.
