Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday lauded the Union Cabinet’s decision to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of paddy, pulses, oilseeds and other cereals and said that the Narendra Modi government (Narendra) Modi Goverment) is determined to double the income of farmers. He also appreciated the decision to further enhance the safety of train operations in the country.
Shah tweeted, “Modi government is determined to double the income of farmers. Today in the same direction, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the cabinet approved an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Kharif crops, giving another gift to our farmer brothers. Another important decision was taken to further enhance the security.

It is noteworthy that the Union Cabinet has approved the proposal for allocation of five MHz spectrum in 700 MHz frequency band to Indian Railways for public safety and security services in trains. The government on Wednesday increased the minimum support price of paddy by Rs 72 per quintal to Rs 1,940 per quintal for the crop year 2021-22. Along with this, the rates of pulses, oilseeds and coarse cereals have also been increased.

Among commercial crops for the crop year 2021-22 (July to June), the MSP for medium staple variety of cotton was increased by Rs 211 per quintal to Rs 5,726 and for long staple variety of cotton by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 6,025. Rs.
This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will help the farmers to increase the sowing work during the coming weeks with the progress of southwest monsoon and they will be able to decide which Kharif crop should be grown more.
