Hyderabad / New Delhi. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Monday took over the security of the Hyderabad campus of Bharat Biotech, the country’s leading vaccine manufacturer. The force will be deployed in its security to thwart any terrorist threat or disturbance. A contingent of 64 personnel headed by an inspector-rank officer of the paramilitary force was inducted at a function held at Genome Valley in Shamirpet area of Telangana’s capital city, a CISF spokesperson said in Delhi.
Bharat Biotech manufactures several vaccines, including Covaccine, one of three vaccines in the country. Apart from this, Kovishield and Sputnik V have been approved for emergency use in the country. The spokesperson said that Bharat Biotech Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Dr Krishna Ella, Joint Managing Director (MD) Dr Suchitra Ella, CISF IG Southern Zone Anjana Sinha and Deputy IG (South Zone-II) Shyamala Dinawahi were present at the function. .

Bharat Biotech is an Indian biotechnology company engaged in drug discovery, drug manufacturing and manufacturing of vaccines, biotherapeutics, pharmaceuticals and healthcare products, a statement issued by the CISF said.
