MUMBAI: As the number of corona patients in Mumbai continues to rise, some Bollywood celebrities and cricketers are blocking hospital beds in Mumbai despite mild symptoms, says state textile minister Aslam Sheikh. He also hoped that the beds would be used for the treatment of critically ill patients.
Some celebrities in the film industry and cricket world have found mild symptoms of corona infection. However, he has been admitted to a large private hospital and has been bedridden for a long time, Sheikh told reporters. The corona test performed by cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was positive. He was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai for a few days. He was recently discharged from the hospital and told to stay at home in isolation. The remarks made by Sheikh in this context are indicative.
In the second wave of corona, an average of ten thousand patients are found every day in Mumbai. Currently, there are more than 90,000 active patients of Corona in Mumbai. The growing number of patients in Corona has put a strain on Mumbai’s health system and the hospital is running out of beds, oxygen and medicines. The state government has announced that three major hospitals will be set up in the next two months.
