New Delhi. Tall pacer Sandeep Warrier got his international debut on Thursday when he was included in India’s playing XI in the third T20I against Sri Lanka. Sandeep has been given a chance in place of the injured Navdeep Saini. In this match, India captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and decided to bat first. Only one change was made in the playing XI for the match and Sandeep got the chance in place of Navdeep.
Born in Kerala, Sandeep has taken a total of 186 wickets in 57 matches in his first-class career. He has the record of taking 5 wickets in this format 11 times. Apart from this, he played 55 List A matches and took 66 wickets. At the same time, in T20, he has taken a total of 53 wickets in 54 matches. He represents Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket. He made his first-class debut for Kerala in the year 2012 when he played a Ranji Trophy match against Goa. Later he joined the Tamil Nadu team.

30-year-old Sandeep has represented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL. Apart from this, he has also played for India’s Under-23 and India-A team. He has also been a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team.
Sri Lanka had leveled the series by winning the second T20 by 4 wickets. All-rounder Krunal Pandya was found to be Kovid-19 positive before the second T20 match of this series affected by Corona. Many players who were in close contact with him had to be dropped from the team later.
