Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has chosen the bowling combination of the Indian team for the final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand (WTC Final). He feels that Team India should go with five specialist bowlers in this match.
New Delhi. Before the final of the World Test Championship (WTC Final), there has been a debate about the bowling combination of Team India. Speculations are rife on how many fast bowlers the team will play against New Zealand in the WTC final to be held in Southampton. The Indian team has Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Siraj as well as Umesh Yadav as a fast bowling option. At the same time, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are also there in the spin department. In such a situation, it is not easy for captain Virat Kohli and the team management to decide the best combination.
Meanwhile, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has also joined the debate. He chose the bowling combination of Team India for the World Test Championship. He talked about the emphasis on the biggest strength of the team i.e. spin bowling. According to him, the Indian team should go with three instead of four fast bowlers in the playing-11 and must include two spinners R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Sehwag feels that this will strengthen India’s batting in the lower middle order. In such a situation, there will be no need to include a sixth batsman.
Should include Ashwin-Jadeja in playing 11: Sehwag
Sehwag said in a conversation with PTI that I do not know how the wicket will be on June 18. But I am sure of one thing that you should always play with the help of your strength. If India goes into this match with five specialist bowlers, then it will be a good thing. I think two spinners will definitely come in handy on day 4 and 5 in Southampton. Because Ashwin and Jadeja are all-rounders. This will also strengthen your batting.Read also: PSL 2021: Pak bowler injured Andre Russell, had to be taken to hospital on a stretcher; watch video

‘It will be fun to see Rohit and Bolt clash’
He further said that his eyes will be on the clash between New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult and Rohit Sharma in the WTC final. He said that if Rohit gets set up and takes out Boult’s first spell, then it will be really fun to watch his batting. Sehwag believes that considering Rohit’s quality and his recent form in the top order, I am sure that he will bat brilliantly in the 6 Tests to be held on this tour of England.
This former Indian opener said that there is no doubt that the pair of Trent Boult and Tim Southee will present a difficult situation for the Indian batsmen. Both bowlers bowl well in pairs and know how to swing the ball in and out.
