Pithoragarh. Host College Pithoragarh has won the first inter-college football competition of Soban Singh Jina University. He defeated Almora by four goals in a one-sided final match.
The final of the football competition was played between Pithoragarh and Almora on Saturday in the college playground. Chief Guest MLA Chandra Pant and Distinguished Guest BJP District Vice President Sourav Pant introduced the players and started the match.
From the first half, the team of Pithoragarh adopted an aggressive stance. Pithoragarh was ahead by two goals in the first half. In the second half, Pithoragarh scored two more goals and won the final match by four goals.
Almora’s team struggled for goals throughout the match but could not find success. Kavindra Mehta was the Chief Judge, Kailash Laspal, Nitin Upreti was the Assistant Judge.
Chief Guest MLA Chandra and A Class Contractor DN Joshi distributed prizes to the winning and runners-up teams. Principal Dr. Ashok Negi and Prof. Pushkar Singh Bisht expressed gratitude.
